⚡ In short

RestoPOS Shift Management lets restaurant managers create daily and weekly shift rosters, assign staff to morning, afternoon and night slots, view who is currently on duty, receive understaffing alerts, and track shift history — all from the same platform used for billing and attendance.

Complete shift scheduling, built into your POS

No separate HR app. No spreadsheets. Build rosters, track attendance and manage shift swaps right inside RestoPOS.

🗓️

Daily & Weekly Roster Builder

Create shift schedules by day or week. Assign multiple staff to each shift slot. RestoPOS shows you the full week at a glance so gaps are visible before the shift starts.

🔔

Understaffing Alerts

If a shift has fewer staff than the minimum you set, RestoPOS flags it immediately — giving you time to call in a replacement before service begins.

👁️

Live "On Duty" View

See which staff members are currently clocked in and which shift they are covering — from the Owner Dashboard on any device, anywhere.

🔄

Shift Swap Requests

Staff can request a shift swap from the app. The manager approves or rejects it from the dashboard — no WhatsApp back-and-forth needed.

📋

Shift History & Reports

Every completed shift is logged with who worked, start and end times, and any absences or late arrivals. Export shift reports for your HR records.

🔗

Linked to Attendance & Payroll

Shift assignments drive the attendance baseline. If a staff member doesn't clock in for their shift, they are marked absent automatically.

How shift management works in RestoPOS

1

Define your shifts

Set up Morning, Evening and Night slots with start/end times and minimum headcount. Done once — reused every week.

2

Build the weekly roster

Drag staff into shift slots; RestoPOS highlights conflicts and understaffed shifts so you can fix them before the week begins.

3

Staff clock in against their assigned shift

Late or absent status is applied automatically when clock-in is missed or delayed — no manual intervention needed.

4

Review shift reports at month-end

See attendance vs. scheduled hours across every shift; feed the data directly into payroll for accurate pay calculations.

The real-world benefits

⏱️

Save planning time

Build a full week's roster in under 10 minutes instead of maintaining WhatsApp groups and Excel sheets.

Eliminate no-shows

Understaffing alerts give you hours to fix gaps before they affect service — not minutes when the shift has already started.

📈

Improve staff fairness

Rotate shifts systematically; staff see their schedule in advance and disputes over weekend or night shifts drop significantly.

Frequently asked questions

How many shifts can I create per day?

There is no hard limit. Most restaurants set up 2–3 shifts per day (morning, afternoon, night). You can create as many slots as your operation needs.

Can staff see their own shift schedule?

Yes. Staff can view their upcoming shift assignments from the RestoPOS staff app so they always know when they are on duty.

What happens if a staff member does not show up for their shift?

If no clock-in is recorded for that shift slot, the staff member is automatically marked absent. The manager receives an alert on the Owner Dashboard.

Does shift data connect to payroll?

Yes. Scheduled hours vs. actual attendance is used to calculate regular pay, overtime and loss-of-pay deductions in the Payroll module — no manual reconciliation needed.
